The opportunityPut your instrumental-analysis skills to work on diverse testing challenges. In this hands-on role, you will perform chemical analysis using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS), gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS) and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). You will support routine testing, method development, troubleshooting and defensible analytical reporting.

Key responsibilities· Prepare samples, reference standards, calibration solutions and quality-control materials using appropriate extraction, cleanup, dilution or digestion procedures.

· Operate, maintain and troubleshoot LC-MS/MS, GC-MS, AAS and HPLC systems; complete instrument checks, calibrations and maintenance records.

· Perform assigned analyses in food, natural health product, cosmetic and other matrices using approved methods and documented procedures.

· Develop, optimize, verify and validate methods; assess selectivity, working range, precision, recovery, matrix effects and detection or quantification limits as applicable.

· Review chromatograms, mass-spectral data and AAS outputs; evaluate calibrations, system suitability, blanks, controls and calculations before submitting results for approval.

· Investigate atypical results and analytical failures; document deviations, troubleshooting and corrective actions without compromising original data.

· Prepare technical worksheets, method documents, validation summaries and draft reports; maintain traceability and follow applicable quality-system and safety procedures.

ANALYTICAL CHEMIST

What you bring· A degree or diploma in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry,



Chemical Laboratory Technology or a related discipline, with relevant laboratory experience.

· Hands-on experience operating analytical instruments, with demonstrated capability in LC-MS/MS, GC-MS, AAS and HPLC. Clearly identify your proficiency with each platform.

· A sound understanding of sample preparation, calibration, internal standards, quality-control acceptance criteria, quantitative calculations and instrumental troubleshooting.

· Experience with method development, verification or validation, including recognizing matrix interference, carryover and other sources of analytical error.

· Proficiency with instrument data systems and spreadsheets; strong technical writing, attention to detail and the ability to prioritize laboratory work.

Additional assetsExperience in a contract-testing laboratory; familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 quality systems or OECD Valuable Laboratory Practice (GLP); experience analysing vitamins, amino acids, pesticides, mycotoxins, preservatives, active ingredients or trace metals; experience with measurement uncertainty and proficiency testing.
