Job Title: Area Sales Manager – Quebec
Location: Quebec, Canada (Field-Based / Remote)
Reporting to: Director of Sales, Canada
Contract type: Independent contractor
Position Overview
Ethica Wines is seeking an ambitious and results-driven Area Sales Manager (ASM) for Quebec to lead the development and growth of our Italian wine portfolio across the province.
Reporting directly to the Director of Sales, Canada, the Area Sales Manager will be responsible for executing the commercial strategy within the Quebec market, developing key accounts, working closely with our distribution partners, and driving sustainable sales growth.
This is a highly field-oriented and relationship-driven role, requiring regular interaction with distributors, sales teams, sommeliers, restaurateurs, retailers, and key industry partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and grow a portfolio of customers, including distributors, key accounts, and strategic partners.
- Build and maintain strong, proactive, and long-term relationships with key accounts across both on-premise and off-premise channels.
- Work closely with distributor sales teams to develop distribution, increase sales, and maximize market opportunities.
- Conduct regular field visits to accompany, train, motivate, and support distributor sales representatives.
- Identify new business opportunities and actively develop new accounts.
- Monitor sales performance, analyze results against established targets, and implement corrective actions when required.
- Track sales, orders, inventory levels, and business opportunities across the territory.
- Provide regular updates and reports to the Director of Sales, Canada regarding sales performance, market opportunities, and challenges.
- Organize and lead wine trainings, tastings, masterclasses, and webinars for distributor teams and customers.
- Collaborate with the Marketing department to execute marketing plans, activations, and brand initiatives in Quebec.
- Collaborate with the OCM department to coordinate and execute events throughout the year.
- Identify opportunities for local brand visibility, partnerships, and activations.
- Monitor market trends, category developments, consumer trends, and competitive activity.
- Propose and, when appropriate, accompany distributors and VIP accounts on educational wine trips and winery visits in Italy.
- Participate in key industry trade shows, tastings, fairs, and events in accordance with the Ethica Wines and distributor calendars.
- Contribute to the development of Ethica Wines' presence and community on social media in collaboration with the Marketing department.
- Support the Finance/Accounting department with customer receivables follow-up and collection when required.
- Participate in weekly and monthly commercial meetings.
- Work closely with the Director of Sales, Canada and internal departments to achieve Quebec sales objectives and contribute to the overall growth of Ethica Wines in Canada.
What You Bring
- College or university degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Wine & Spirits, or a related field is an asset.
- 3+ years of relevant sales experience, preferably within the wine, spirits, beverage, hospitality, or consumer goods industry.
- Strong knowledge of the Quebec wine and beverage market and its distribution landscape.
- Proven experience working with distributors and their sales teams.
- Experience developing new business and managing key accounts.
- Strong understanding and passion for wine, with a particular interest in Italian wines.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Highly organized, autonomous, proactive, and results-oriented.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities.
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with senior management and internal teams.
- Strong networking and interpersonal skills.
- Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken. Italian language skills are considered a strong asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office / Microsoft 365, CRM platforms, Excel, and other standard business tools.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regularly throughout Quebec and occasionally outside the province.
- Availability to attend evening events, tastings, trade shows, and industry functions when required.

The salary range is based on several factors, including but not limited to overall experience, relevant experience, education level, certifications, applicable skills and expertise, and the position location.
