About The Role
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Mid-Senior Level Back End Developer to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will contribute significantly to the core backend API that powers the Amuse platform, supporting features for users who are eager to explore local arts and culture. You will be involved in designing, developing, and maintaining reliable APIs and data models, ensuring seamless integration and performance.
Your work will include exploring how GIS data and algorithms can connect data points in innovative ways, enhancing the user experience through spatial data insights. Collaboration is key, and you will work closely with other developers, designers, and team members to bring new features to life. This position offers a rare opportunity to work on a complex,
scalable software platform in a remote environment, with a focus on growth, innovation, and meaningful impact.
Qualifications
- Experience with Go / Golang or equivalent strongly typed compiled languages such as Rust, Java, or C++
- Familiarity with REST APIs and real-time application development
- Interest in data analytics and spatial data, including GIS concepts and algorithms
- Experience with relational databases, preferably Postgres; familiarity with PostGIS is a bonus
- Knowledge of media types such as audio, video, images, or geographic data
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Experience with API development, data modeling, or algorithm-driven projects, either through personal, academic, or professional projects
- Willingness to learn new tools, techniques, and share ideas openly
- Interest in AI-powered tools and how they can augment development workflows
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of the core backend API that powers the Amuse platform
- Design, implement, and optimize APIs and data models for reliability and scalability
- Explore GIS data and algorithms to create meaningful connections between data points
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, designers, and product managers to deliver new features
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to ensure high-quality deliverables
- Identify opportunities to improve system performance and user experience through technical solutions
- Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry best practices to continually enhance skills and platform capabilities
- Support team initiatives for innovation, knowledge sharing, and process improvement
