About The Role The Global Business Development Manager for PLP AEOLUS at Preformed Line Products Canada Limited is a pivotal role responsible for driving the growth and market presence of the PLP-Insights product portfolio worldwide. This position involves identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic relationships, and leading commercial negotiations with key stakeholders such as utilities, transmission system operators, EPC contractors, and strategic partners. The role requires a agile individual capable of working collaboratively across regional teams and technical departments to deliver innovative IoT monitoring solutions that enhance grid performance.

The successful candidate will play a crucial part in expanding the company's footprint in the global Power Transmission & Distribution industry, ensuring revenue growth, and supporting the company's international commercial strategy.

Qualifications

Essential qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or a related technical field. Candidates should have a minimum of four years’

experience in international B2B business development or technical sales within the Power T&D; or EPC sectors.



Proven expertise in selling complex technical solutions and managing long sales cycles is required, along with experience working across diverse international markets and intercompany environments.

Preferred qualifications include an MBA or postgraduate degree in International Trade, Energy Economics, or a related discipline. Established relationships with global utilities and TSOs, such as National Grid (UK), RTE (France), TenneT (Germany), or PowerGrid (India), are highly advantageous. Candidates with a track record of securing major infrastructure projects or framework agreements, and possessing technical and commercial knowledge of overhead line systems, transmission infrastructure, towers, conductors, and associated hardware, will be prioritized.

Responsibilities

- Develop and implement comprehensive global business development and market expansion strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within utility, TSO, and EPC markets worldwide.
- Establish and nurture strategic relationships with customers, partners, and industry stakeholders, maintaining detailed dashboards and tracking tools.
- Collaborate closely with internal engineering, product development, operations, leadership teams, and regional PLP organizations to ensure alignment and successful project execution.
- Lead the preparation and submission of proposals, tenders, and commercial negotiations, including contract discussions and risk assessments.
- Represent PLP-Insights at customer meetings, industry conferences,



and trade shows to promote solutions and strengthen market presence.
- Support pricing strategies, sales forecasting, and commercial planning activities to optimize revenue and profitability.
- Act as the primary commercial interface between customers and technical teams, ensuring clear communication and project alignment.
- Deliver compelling technical and commercial presentations to clients, stakeholders, and industry forums to showcase product capabilities and value propositions.
