Clifton is currently searching for a Civil Technologist or a Civil Engineer in Training to join our Civil Engineering team in Saskatchewan. In this role, you will support and coordinate civil infrastructure, capital expansion, and public works projects, carry out field and design work, help manage client expectations, write technical reports and proposals, and contribute to the success of our civil engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist with the planning, design, and execution of civil infrastructure, capital expansion, and public works projects.
- Perform field work, site inspections, and data collection as required to support construction activities across Saskatchewan.
- Conduct field and laboratory testing and documentation for quality control and quality assurance purposes, primarily asphalt, concrete, and aggregates/soils (Technologist stream).
- Operate and maintain survey and testing equipment, including RTK and optical survey instruments, and keep accurate field notes, measurements, and project records (Technologist stream).
- Prepare technical calculations, drawings, and design documentation under the supervision of senior engineers (Engineer in Training stream).
- Assist with the preparation of reports, contract documents, cost estimates, and other project-related documentation as required.
- Support project managers with day-to-day project tasks,



including document control and coordination to support project execution.
- Travel to remote or out-of-town project sites on a project-based basis, which may include non-standard work schedules (overtime and weekend work), as required.
- Learn and apply applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Adhere to all health and safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements while working on construction and active project sites.
- Adapt Clifton’s Quality Management System into project delivery.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, or a related discipline, and/or a Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology a closely related field, from an accredited post-secondary institution.
- Registered, or eligible for registration, with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS) or with Technology Professionals Saskatchewan (TPS)
- Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D is considered an asset.
- Willingness to perform field work on a flexible schedule, including the ability to work independently at outdoor and remote sites.
- Strong organizational skills and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple and competing priorities while meeting project deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with project managers, engineers, clients, and field staff.
- Ability to contribute to a positive, professional, and ethical work environment.
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite of products.
- Strong workplace safety orientation, with continued attention to safety and safe work practices.
- Must hold and maintain a valid Class 5 Driver’s License and be able to provide a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract.
