Who We Are

NETES is a not-for-profit Indigenous organization supporting the success of Indigenous people in Winnipeg. We offer adult education, skills training and employment services, along with wrap-around services such as daycare, student housing, and health and wellness programming. Rooted in community, respect, and Indigenous values, our work helps build a solid, thriving Indigenous community.

The Opportunity

NETES is seeking an experienced Database System Project Consultant to lead the consolidation of five legacy systems and multiple departmental data sources into a single, scalable Microsoft Dynamics 365 platform.

A central focus of this role is end-to-end data mapping, validation, and migration strategy. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in translating complex, disparate legacy schemas into structured Dynamics 365 data models. Working closely with internal stakeholders and an external software vendor, the consultant will oversee all project phases from planning through post-implementation adoption.

Key Responsibilities

- Data Mapping & Migration Architecture: Lead comprehensive source-to-target data mapping sessions to align five legacy databases with Microsoft Dynamics 365 schema requirements. Define data transformation rules, relationships, and validation criteria.
- Legacy System Auditing: Conduct thoroughly documented system audits and data gap analyses to identify data cleanup needs, duplicates, and compatibility risks prior to migration.
- Project Management & Execution: Develop and maintain a detailed implementation roadmap, tracking timelines, deliverables, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Vendor & Stakeholder Liaison:

Serve as the primary liaison between internal departments and the external software vendor, ensuring technical specifications and business requirements match.
- Workflow Optimization: Help departmental teams document, streamline, and adapt existing workflows to maximize the efficiency of the new system.
- Testing & Validation: Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT), data integrity validation runs, and system integration testing.
- Change Management & Training: Develop adoption strategies, user training materials, and post-implementation support workflows to ensure smooth organizational transitions.

Qualifications
- Database & Data Mapping Expertise (Required): Proven hands-on track record in data mapping, data profiling, field-level schema matching, and executing complex legacy-to-ERP data migrations.
- Implementation Experience: Direct experience leading complex database or ERP implementation projects (Microsoft Dynamics 365 strongly preferred).
- Technical & Systems Acumen: Strong understanding of system integration architecture, data model design, and database normalization principles.
- Project Leadership: Demonstrated project management skills, including scope management, stakeholder coordination, and vendor oversight.
- Communication & Collaboration: Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to bridge gaps between technical vendors and non-technical business units.
- Change Management: Familiarity with change management methodologies, user training, and post-launch support.

Additional Requirements

NETES requires a clear and satisfactory Criminal Record Check prior to the start of employment. All checks must be dated within three (3) months of the start date.

Apply in person, online at netes.ca/jobs or by email at [email protected]. Please include the competition number in your application. We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.

NETES is committed to equity and inclusion in employment. Preference will be given to qualified Indigenous candidates in alignment with our organizational mandate and the communities we serve.
