Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated professional to join our restructuring and special situations advisory team at the Director level. The successful candidate will play a key role in advising companies, lenders, and stakeholders facing complex financial, operational, or strategic challenges.

This role involves leading and executing restructuring engagements, conducting financial and operational analyses, and supporting clients through periods of financial distress, liquidity challenges, and strategic transformation.

The position offers the opportunity to work directly with senior executives, lenders, legal advisors, and other key stakeholders on high-impact engagements.

Key Responsibilities

Engagement Leadership and Execution

- Lead and execute restructuring, turnaround, and financial advisory engagements
- Manage day-to-day project execution and coordinate engagement teams
- Develop financial analyses including:
- 13-week cash flow forecasts
- Liquidity and working capital assessments
- Scenario and sensitivity analyses
- Financial modelling and forecasting
- Prepare materials for stakeholder communications, including lender updates and board presentations
- Support engagements involving court-supervised restructuring processes under:
- Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act
- Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act

Financial and Operational Analysis

- Analyze historical financial performance and key business drivers
- Identify operational improvement opportunities and cost optimization initiatives
- Assess business viability and restructuring alternatives
- Evaluate covenant compliance and liquidity risks
- Support development of restructuring strategies and contingency plans

Stakeholder Coordination

- Work closely with client management teams, lenders, legal counsel, and other advisors
- Participate in meetings with secured lenders,



boards of directors, and investors
- Assist in preparing presentations and reports for key stakeholders
- Support negotiations and restructuring discussions among creditor groups

Team Leadership

- Supervise and mentor Associates and Senior Associates
- Review and oversee financial analysis and deliverables prepared by junior staff
- Ensure engagement timelines and quality standards are met
- Provide coaching and professional development support

Business Development and Practice Growth

- Assist in the preparation of proposals, pitch materials, and client presentations
- Contribute to business development initiatives and market outreach
- Develop relationships with lenders, legal advisors, and other restructuring professionals
- Support thought leadership initiatives and industry research

Qualifications

Education and Credentials

CPA, CA or equivalent professional designation preferred

Additional credentials considered an asset:

- CFA
- CBV
- CIRP
- MBA

Experience

- Approximately 5–8 years of relevant experience
- Experience in restructuring, corporate finance, transaction advisory, or audit
- Strong financial modelling and analytical capabilities
- Approximately 8–12+ years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated experience leading complex engagements
- Significant client-facing experience with senior stakeholders
- Exposure to distressed situations and multi-party negotiations

Technical Skills





- Advanced Excel financial modelling
- Cash flow forecasting and liquidity management
- Financial statement analysis
- Strong written and presentation skills
- Ability to synthesize complex information into clear insights

Pay: $125,000.00-$150,000.00 per year
