Role Description The Event Manager will plan, coordinate, and execute community-focused events and programs that align with HH Smart Lounges’ mental wellness mission and member experience goals. This contract role is in office in North York, ON, and requires close collaboration with community members, wellness practitioners, and internal teams to design engaging workshops, celebrations, and networking activities.
Day-to-day responsibilities include developing event concepts and calendars, managing logistics and vendors, overseeing event setup and teardown, and ensuring smooth on-site operations. The Event Manager will track attendance and feedback, optimize future events, manage budgets, and maintain clear communication with stakeholders.
The role also involves promoting events through appropriate channels, ensuring events are inclusive, trauma-informed, and supportive of mental and emotional well-being.
Qualifications
- Event planning and coordination skills, including experience managing workshops, community events, and small- to mid-scale gatherings.
- Strong logistics and operations abilities, covering scheduling, vendor management, budget tracking, and on-site event oversight.
- Community engagement and relationship-building skills, with an ability to foster a welcoming, inclusive, and psychologically safe environment.
- Communication and collaboration skills, including clear written and verbal communication and effective teamwork with cross-functional partners.
- Experience or strong interest in mental wellness, community health, or related fields, with sensitivity to diverse lived experiences.
- Ability to work on-site in North York, ON, including evenings or weekends as required by event schedules.
- Proficiency with basic digital tools (e.g., event management software, calendars, communication platforms); familiarity with AI-driven or tech-enabled experiences is an asset.
- Previous experience in event management, hospitality, community organizing, or program coordination; post-secondary education in events, communications, social sciences, or related areas is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and capacity to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
