The Execution Contract Manager manages contracts from project initiation through closeout, balancing customer needs, commercial objectives, and contractual risk. This role partners with Project Management, Legal, Procurement, Finance, and other stakeholders to support project execution, resolve contractual issues, and protect the company’s interests.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise Project Managers and execution teams on complex contractual and commercial matters.
- Lead contract reviews at project initiation and closeout, including risk and opportunity assessments, milestones, Incoterms, liquidated damages, claims, settlements, lien waivers, and releases.
- Support EP and EP+ project delivery, including contractor and subcontractor agreements, flow-down contracts, project controls, and quality management.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate contractual, financial, and operational risks.
- Prepare and lead negotiations related to change orders, claims, disputes, and contract settlements with customers and suppliers.
- Lead claims management activities, including delay analysis, impact assessments, claim documentation, responses, and counterclaims.
- Track liquidated damages, penalties, and other contractual exposures.
- Interpret contract requirements and advise stakeholders on contractual rights, obligations, compliance, and best practices.
- Partner with Legal and cross-functional teams to resolve disputes and contractual issues.
- Provide training and guidance on contract management practices.
- Share lessons learned and best practices to improve contract management across projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of commercial contract management, transactional, or contract negotiation experience.
- Strong knowledge of commercial contract terms and conditions, particularly in the North American market.
- Experience with Design-Build, EP, or EPC contracts.
- Demonstrated experience negotiating with customers, suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Experience working in a matrix organization with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of contractual risk, claims, change orders, and dispute resolution.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Strong commercial judgment, financial acumen, and problem-solving ability.
- Fluency in English; French is an asset.
- Approximately 20% travel, including some international travel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with EP+ projects, including subcontractor management, flow-down agreements, project controls, and quality controls.
- Familiarity with water treatment technologies and related customer industries.
- Experience working across different cultures and geographies.

Compensation: the compensation range is tied to the market for similarly benchmarked roles. The range is not an absolute, but a guide, and offers will be based on the individual candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, and market conditions, as well as internal peer equity. Depending upon all the preceding considerations for the final selected individual candidate, the offer may be lower or higher than the stated range: CAD $103,000.00 - $110,000.00.
