What you'll be doing
CIBC Wood Gundy is a leading wealth advisory firm where trusted advice, personalized service, and long-term relationships are at the centre of everything we do. As a Financial Associate with Bard Wealth Management at CIBC Wood Gundy, you'll work closely with the team to help grow the practice by identifying, attracting, and building relationships with new clients. With mentorship and support from the Investment Advisor, you'll lead business development activities including prospecting, networking, pipeline management, and the development of presentations and proposals that reflect the team's value proposition.
You'll play an active role in converting opportunities into lasting client relationships while contributing to the practice's ongoing growth. As relationships deepen, you'll also provide ongoing wealth management support through portfolio reviews, financial planning conversations, investment strategy implementation, and responsive day-to-day client service. You'll collaborate with internal partners, stay informed on market developments, and help deliver tailored wealth solutions that support client goals and practice growth.

How you'll succeed
Business development - Build a strong pipeline of prospective clients through proactive prospecting, networking, referrals, and consistent follow-up activities that support the growth of Bard Wealth Management's practice.
Client acquisition - Prepare and deliver presentations, proposals, and planning discussions that clearly communicate the team's value, build trust, and help convert prospects into long-term client relationships.
Relationship management - Establish meaningful connections with current clients and provide a high standard of ongoing service by responding to inquiries, coordinating documentation, and maintaining accurate client records.
Wealth planning support - Contribute to financial planning and investment discussions by supporting portfolio reviews, preparing recommendations, and helping implement tailored investment strategies aligned with client needs.
Market insight - Monitor market trends, research opportunities, and assess client segments to help refine outreach strategies, identify new opportunities, and support informed client conversations.
Partnership - Work closely with the Investment Advisor and internal partners while learning through mentorship, coaching, and hands-on exposure to all aspects of building and managing a successful wealth management practice.
Who you are
You're a licensed investment skilled. You've completed the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and the Conduct and Practices Handbook (CPH), and you're licensed to work in an investment advisory environment as a Registered Representative.
You have relevant wealth management experience. You bring 1-3 years of experience as a Financial Advisor, Investment Planning and Retirement Specialist, Associate Investment Advisor, or in a similar wealth management role. Experience as an independent investment advisor is also an asset if you're looking to succeed in a collaborative team environment.
You know how to grow relationships. You have proven experience in lead generation, prospecting, and pipeline management, and you're confident building trust with prospective and existing clients through professional, client-focused communication.
You bring strong financial knowledge. You have a solid foundation in capital markets, wealth management, investment strategies, and financial planning.
You're organized, analytical, and digitally confident. You can manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail, and you're comfortable using financial software, customer relationship management tools, and Microsoft Office applications to support both business development and client service activities.
