Starting at $23.00/hour — negotiable based on experience
Guaranteed 40 hours per week | Full time, Year-Round
We’re looking for a dependable, hardworking Floor Care & Special Projects Technician to join our team.
We’re looking for a bit of a “Swiss Army knife” — someone versatile, hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently.
This is a varied role involving floor care and refinishing, carpet cleaning, special projects, general building services, and team coverage as needed. The right person will have the experience to handle floor and carpet work properly while also being willing to take on different assignments as needs change.
What You’ll Do
- Strip, wax, polish, refinish, and restore commercial flooring
- Perform commercial carpet cleaning and extraction, including spot and stain treatment
- Operate and maintain commercial floor-care and carpet-cleaning equipment
- Handle special projects and other hands-on building services at client locations
- Work independently and manage assigned work effectively
- Provide coverage for other team members when required
- Take proper care of company tools, equipment, phone, and vehicle
- Represent our company professionally at client locations
Schedule & Flexibility Flexibility is an important part of this position.
Floor refinishing, carpet cleaning, and special projects often need to be completed outside of our clients’ regular operating hours. As a result, evening and weekend work will be required depending on project schedules.
You may also occasionally need to adjust your schedule or responsibilities to provide coverage when another team member is away.
In return for that flexibility, this is a full-time, year-round position with a guaranteed 40-hour work week.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience with commercial floor care, including stripping, waxing, polishing, and refinishing
- Commercial carpet-cleaning and extraction experience
- Ability to safely operate commercial floor-care and cleaning equipment
- Mechanical aptitude is a strong asset;
experience troubleshooting, maintaining, or repairing commercial cleaning equipment is especially valuable
- Strong attention to detail and pride in the finished product
- Dependable, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently
- Flexible with working hours and responsibilities, including evenings and weekends when required
- Willing to take on different types of work and support the team where needed
- Professional and respectful at client locations
- Valid driver’s licence with a responsible driving record
- Physically capable of hands-on work, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and operating commercial cleaning equipment
Compensation & What We Provide
- Starting wage: $23.00/hour
- Higher starting wage available based on relevant experience and skill level
- Guaranteed 40 hours per week
- Full-time, year-round employment
- Company van and gas card
- Company phone
- All required tools and equipment
The Right Person for This Role Experience matters, but so do reliability, flexibility, common sense, and pride in your work.
We want someone we can trust to take a company vehicle to a client location, understand the assignment, and complete the work properly without needing constant supervision.
The work varies. One day may involve floor refinishing or carpet cleaning, another a special project, and another may require stepping in to support the team. If you’re mechanically inclined and able to troubleshoot or repair cleaning equipment, that’s an added advantage and a skill we value.
If you like variety, take pride in doing a job properly, and are comfortable working independently, we’d like to hear from you.
Apply and tell us about your experience with floor care, carpet cleaning, equipment maintenance or repair, building services, and other relevant hands-on work.
