About The Role
As a CBRE HVAC Senior Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of HVAC and building control systems within a commercial facility. As part of CBRE's Engineering and Technical Services team, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing complex electrical and pneumatic controls that support heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment. This hands-on role requires a strong technical aptitude, a proactive approach to preventive maintenance, and the ability to diagnose and resolve equipment issues while ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate is a collaborative problem-solver who takes pride in delivering high-quality work, managing inventory and maintenance priorities effectively, and demonstrating behaviors aligned with CBRE's RISE values.
What You’ll Do
- Install, repair, adjust, service and maintain large electric or pneumatic control systems used for building.
- heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems and equipment, Calibrate instruments, gauges, and control components.
- Inspect and conduct ongoing maintenance on building HVAC equipment to ensure proper operation of equipment and compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and work safety.
- Troubleshoot difficult equipment failures and identify the best course of action for equipment modifications.
- Manage HVAC stock levels for materials, supplies, and component needs on hand.
- Have some knowledge of standard principles with limited practical experience in applying them.
- Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values.

What You’ll Need
- Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic – the individual must possess a Journeyman Certificate or Individuals holding a recognized trade credential from another Canadian province or territory (313A or Red Deal Endorsements) with 4-5 years related experience.
- CO2 commercial refrigeration system experience preferred.
- G2 Gas Technician (G1 an asset)
- ODP Certificate – Ozone Depletion Certificate
- Valid driver's license.
- Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
- Ability to use existing procedures to solve standard problems.
- Experience with analyzing information and standard practices to make judgments.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Organizational skills with a strong inquisitive mindset.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The salary range being offered for the HVAC Sr. Technician is between $52-$57 per hour. The compensation that is provided to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
