Description

Mission: The Industrial Engineering Lead is a key member of the Engineering team responsible for Brockville's manufacturing infrastructure and industrial engineering functions. This role leads initiatives related to plant layouts, manufacturing equipment, tooling, workflow optimization, and process improvement to ensure the operation has the capability, capacity, and reliability required to meet current production demands while supporting future growth.

Outcomes:

• First 90 days:

- Assess critical manufacturing equipment and tooling and establish a prioritized improvement roadmap.
- Identify major operational constraints and opportunities to improve manufacturing efficiency and throughput.
- Build strong working relationships across Engineering, Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and Production teams.

• First 6 Months:

- Improve productivity and throughput in priority manufacturing areas, delivering measurable operational gains.
- Identify and reduce key manufacturing bottlenecks and capacity constraints.
- Standardize and optimize manufacturing processes, methods, and tooling for critical operations.
- Reduce recurring manufacturing, equipment, and tooling issues through systematic troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Establish preventive maintenance requirements and schedules for critical equipment and tooling.

• First 12 Months

- Successfully deliver a minimum of three high-impact continuous improvement projects with measurable improvements in safety, quality, productivity, throughput, cost,



or capacity.
- Improve overall manufacturing performance through sustainable process, tooling, and equipment enhancements

Role Competencies:

Education:• Degree or diploma in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering/Technology, or a related technical discipline. Experience:• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing environment with increasing responsibility for industrial engineering, manufacturing systems, equipment, or process improvement.

Manufacturing Equipment & Tooling Expertise: • Robust hands-on knowledge of manufacturing machinery, equipment, and tooling.

- Experience with equipment specification, selection, installation, troubleshooting, optimization, and lifecycle management.
- Ability to identify and implement practical solutions to improve equipment reliability and performance.

Industrial Engineering

Expertise • Demonstrated experience in plant layout design, workflow analysis, capacity planning, labor optimization, and process improvement.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing system design and industrial engineering principles that drive operational efficiency and throughput.

Technical Problem

Solving

- Strong mechanical aptitude and analytical capability. • Proven ability to investigate complex manufacturing and equipment-related issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable corrective actions. Continuous Improvement • Demonstrated success applying Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement methodologies, and data-driven problem-solving techniques. • Track record of improving safety, quality, productivity, throughput, cost, and operational performance.
