Your Prospect at SECURE
Summer positions will run May-August 2027. Co-op and Internship positions may extend beyond the summer term depending on the requirements of the academic program and the business. These terms may be 4, 8, 12, or 16 months in length.

To be eligible for the SECURE Student program, you must:
- Be enrolled in a post-secondary institution and available from May to August.
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada by way of Canadian Citizenship, Permanent residency, or a valid work permit.
- Complete a Medical and/or Alcohol and Drug test if the role is considered safety-sensitive.

Your Opportunity at SECURE
SECURE is looking for a motivated Student to join our Field Services team in Saskatchewan. This is a hands-on opportunity for a student seeking practical experience in environmental services, waste management, remediation, and field operations while contributing to meaningful work across our Saskatchewan operations. Throughout the summer, you will work alongside experienced field professionals and support a variety of customer and project needs, from environmental cleanup and waste management to emergency response and remediation. The experience is designed to build your technical, operational,
and professional capabilities while providing exposure to potential career paths within SECURE following graduation.
This opportunity is well-suited to someone who enjoys working outdoors, solving problems, learning through hands-on experience, and being part of a safety-focused operations team.
This role is based out of Swift Current, Saskatchewan.
The Team
You will work closely with SECURE's Field Services team, Project Managers, and third-party contractors to safely and effectively deliver work for our customers. Our field environment is collaborative and fast-moving. You'll have the opportunity to learn directly from experienced team members, ask questions, build relationships across the business, and observe how different teams collaborate to deliver safe and effective environmental solutions.
We are looking for someone who brings a positive attitude, takes initiative, is willing to learn, and can adapt as priorities and project requirements change.
Work Environment
This is a field-based position supporting projects and customer locations throughout Saskatchewan. Work may take place outdoors, in remote locations, and in varying weather conditions. The role involves travel between job sites, physically demanding activities, and the safe operation of small equipment such as forklifts and pumps. Depending on operational requirements, you may also have the opportunity to support environmental incident response activities.
Because the work we do can change quickly in response to customer and operational needs, flexibility is important. You should be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and professionalism.
A Day in The Life
- Promote a Safety-First Culture – Follow SECURE's health, safety, and environmental standards and participate in tailgate meetings, field-level hazard assessments, inspections, and other activities that help ensure work is completed safely.
- Provide Field Waste Management Support – Assist with sampling, testing, packaging, transportation, and documentation of hazardous and non-hazardous waste in accordance with regulatory and customer requirements.
- Support Environmental and Remediation Projects – Complete hands-on field activities, including site remediation, environmental cleanup, and general field service work at customer locations.
- Participate in Emergency and Incident Response – Support field teams during spills, environmental incidents, and other emergency response situations.
- Maintain Regulatory Compliance – Follow applicable environmental regulations, Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) requirements, waste-handling standards, and SECURE procedures.
- Maintain Accurate Field Documentation – Complete field notes, manifests, bills of lading,
safety documentation, inspections, GPS records, and testing information accurately and efficiently.
- Deliver a Positive Customer Experience – Build professional relationships with customers, assist in assessing site requirements, communicate project needs, and provide dependable field support.
- Operate Equipment and Complete Physical Field Work – Safely operate small equipment, including forklifts and pumps, while completing physically demanding work in field environments.
- Collaborate Across Project Teams – Work with Project Managers, Field Services team members, and third-party contractors to coordinate activities, maintain safe worksites, and achieve project objectives.
- Demonstrate Adaptability and Professionalism – Manage changing priorities, travel between job sites, work independently or collaboratively, and contribute to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- We are looking for a student who is interested in developing a career within environmental services, waste management, field operations, or a related industry.
- Currently enrolled in a recognized post-secondary program, preferably in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Commerce/Business, or a related discipline.
- Strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental responsibility.
- Interest in hands-on fieldwork and learning about environmental and waste management operations.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions and completing physically demanding work.
- Willing and able to travel to customer and project locations throughout Saskatchewan.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with team members, contractors, and customers.
- Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to complete field documentation accurately.
- Adaptable and comfortable working in a dynamic environment where priorities may change.
- Self-motivated, dependable, and willing to take initiative while learning from experienced team members.
- Interest in building practical industry experience and exploring future career opportunities with SECURE.
