Role Description The Junior Associate will work on-site in Toronto, ON, supporting senior counsel across employment, labour, human rights, and civil litigation files. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, correspondence, and memoranda, and assisting with case preparation for negotiations, mediations, hearings, and trials. The role involves meeting with clients under supervision, helping to assess legal issues, gathering evidence, and maintaining organized, accurate file records.

The Junior

Associate will collaborate with colleagues, participate in strategy discussions, and support the firm’s efforts to deliver timely,



high-quality legal services. This is a full-time position.

Qualifications

- Strong legal research and writing skills, including the ability to analyze case law, legislation, and legal commentary.
- Proficiency in drafting litigation documents, client correspondence, and internal memoranda with attention to detail and clarity.
- Effective communication and client service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, opposing counsel, and tribunals.
- Solid organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple files, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Interest or experience in employment law, labour relations, human rights law, and civil litigation; prior articling or internship experience in these areas is an asset.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a small team, take direction from senior lawyers, and exercise sound judgment and discretion.
- Licensed to practice law in Ontario (member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario) or eligibility for immediate licensing.
- Commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality, and providing respectful, non-discriminatory legal services to a diverse client base.
