Description
Talent Management within People and Culture is currently seeking a Full-time Temporary Relief Learning Experience Specialist for approximately 15 months.
Reporting to the Associate Director, Talent Management, the Learning Experience Specialist designs, delivers, and evaluates learning and capability-building solutions that advance employee performance, leadership effectiveness, organizational readiness, and institutional priorities.
Working in a complex and evolving environment, the incumbent leads learning initiatives from needs assessment through implementation and evaluation. Acting as a trusted advisor and consultant, they partner with leaders, subject matter experts, and stakeholders across the university to identify current and future capability needs and develop innovative, learner-centred solutions that support organizational outcomes.
The role combines expertise in adult learning, learning experience design, facilitation, organizational development, project management, stakeholder engagement, and digital learning technologies. The incumbent leverages data, analytics, AI-enabled tools, and emerging technologies to enhance learning effectiveness, improve the employee experience, and foster a culture of continuous learning. The role also stewards the university's digital learning ecosystem, including learning websites, online resources, communities of practice, and knowledge-sharing platforms.
Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):
- Design, facilitate, and evaluate learning and capability-building solutions that strengthen individual, team, and organizational performance.
- Partner with leaders and stakeholders to assess capability needs and develop evidence-informed learning strategies.
- Lead learning, leadership development, and change enablement initiatives from planning through evaluation.
- Develop accessible, inclusive, and engaging learning experiences using a variety of modalities and technologies.
- Leverage learning analytics, learner feedback, and performance data to measure effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
- Utilize AI-enabled tools, emerging technologies, and digital learning practices to improve learning outcomes, scalability, and employee experience.
- Lead and continuously improve digital learning ecosystems, resource hubs, and knowledge-sharing platforms.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning through communities of practice, self-directed learning, and learning in the flow of work.
- Support workforce capability-building initiatives aligned with university priorities.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Adult Education, Organizational Development, Education, Business, Communications, or a related discipline.
- Minimum five years of progressive experience in learning and development, instructional design, organizational development, talent development, or a related field.
- Demonstrated expertise in adult learning, learning experience design, facilitation, and learning technologies.
- Solid project and program management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to consult, influence, and build effective relationships across a complex organization.
- Experience using learning management systems, content management systems, learning technologies, digital collaboration platforms, authoring tools, website management tools, and learning analytics.
- Experience measuring learning effectiveness and organizational impact through analytics and evaluation frameworks.
- Experience supporting workforce capability, leadership development, or organizational change initiatives.
- Knowledge of emerging technologies, including AI, and their application to learning and development.
- Knowledge of responsible AI practices, future workforce trends, and skills-based talent development.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and continuous improvement skills.
