Logistic and Supply Chain Manager

Location: Fully Remote — Candidate must reside in Ontario, Canada

Salary Range: $75,000–$95,000

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Logistics Manager to own our inbound transportation from Asia to North America. This role manages ocean freight, air freight, trucking, and rail across our vendor network, from competitive bidding and pricing through booking and day to day operations.

The Logistics Manager will also partner closely with our warehouse and demand forecasting/allocations team to support cross docking of bulk orders into store-level shipments, and store-level inventory rebalancing through replenishment deliveries. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is comfortable owning carrier relationships, solving problems as shipments move, and keeping the business informed on what is in transit and when it will land.

Key Responsibilities

Inbound Transportation & Carrier Management

● Manage inbound logistics from Asia to North America across ocean freight, air freight, trucking, and rail.

● Manage vendor relationships, competitive bidding, pricing, and day to day booking operations.

● Lead the RFP process for carriers and freight forwarders, negotiate rates and contracts, and manage ongoing carrier performance.

● Optimize mode and routing decisions (ocean vs. air vs. rail) to balance cost and speed, especially during peak or holiday volume.

Customs & Documentation Coordination

● Coordinate with our customs broker on HS code classification, duty/tariff calculations, and compliance with CBSA (Canada) and CBP (US) requirements.

● Prepare and manage import documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.

● Support duty drawback and tariff refund opportunities on qualifying imports, working alongside our customs broker.

Shipment Visibility & Exception Management

● Monitor in-transit shipments and proactively resolve delays, port congestion, or customs holds.





● Provide timely ETA and inventory-in-transit updates to merchandising, demand planning, and store operations teams.

Warehouse & Store Replenishment Operations

● Partner with the warehouse and demand forecasting/allocations team on cross docking, where bulk orders are received and split for distribution to stores.

● Support store-level inventory rebalancing through replenishment deliveries.

● Oversee relationships and service levels with any third-party warehouse or cross-dock providers.

Cost, Performance & Risk Management

● Own the freight budget, track and report spend, and work with Finance on freight accruals and cost allocation.

● Build and maintain logistics KPIs, including on-time delivery, freight cost per unit, transit time, and claims/damage rates.

● Manage cargo insurance coverage and lead claims processes for lost or damaged freight.

Qualifications

● 3-5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or freight forwarding, ideally managing international inbound transportation.

● Hands-on experience coordinating ocean, air, trucking, and rail shipments, including carrier and vendor negotiation.

● Experience with Asia to North America trade lanes strongly preferred.

● Working knowledge of customs processes and experience coordinating with a customs broker.

● Comfortable working cross-functionally with warehouse, demand planning, and store operations teams.

● Robust Excel skills and comfort working within ERP or transportation management systems.

● Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage issues under time pressure.

● Able to work independently, manage competing priorities, and follow issues through to resolution.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who takes ownership of the freight and logistics process end to end, rather than simply processing bookings. The successful candidate will proactively manage carrier relationships, anticipate and resolve shipment issues before they escalate, and keep cross-functional teams informed without requiring constant follow-up.

Reliability, organization, and follow-through are critical for this role.
