Deputy Lead Nurse - Out of Hours Primary care (GMED)

Band 8a 36 hours per week

Base - Aberdeen Health Village

GMED is seeking to appoint a Deputy Lead Nurse with a background in Advanced Practice to provide senior clinical leadership and skilled oversight to a large substantive team of ANP’s and APP’s.

Collaborating with the lead nurse and multi-disciplinary team, the post holder will provide coordination, expert advice, strong effective leadership, professional guidance and development opportunities to the ANP/APP team and wider service. The post holder will line manage the ANP/APP’s and support and deputise for the Lead Nurse.

This is a new post, adapted and developed following a successful Test of Change. Applications are invited from dynamic and highly motivated ANP’s with management experience, ready to take on the challenge of supporting the team through development, change and readiness for regulation, against the backdrop of an evolving unscheduled care arena.

Whilst the base for this post is in Aberdeen, GMED operates from 8 locations across NHS Grampian and the post holder will at times be required to travel across the region.

Working hours - Office hours Monday to Friday,



with one weekend per month working clinically.

You Must

- Be a Registered Nurse (Adult) with current NMC registration.
- Be an ANP, holding the MSc or PgDip in Advanced Clinical Practice and Non-Medical Prescribing qualification.
- Have significant experience working at advanced practice level, with demonstrable clinical leadership, management, supervision and workforce development experience.
