The Manager, Insights and Analytics is a Toronto-based position reporting to the Vice President of Sustainability, Scientific and Regulatory Affairs at the Canadian Beverage Association.

The Manager, Insights and Analytics will lead the development of the Association's data and intelligence function and be responsible for transforming complex data into actionable business insights that support strategic decision-making. This role partners with cross-functional teams to analyze business performance, identify trends, develop reporting solutions, and provide recommendations that drive growth, operational efficiency, and customer success. The successful candidate will build and manage industry dashboards, identify trends and emerging risks, develop economic and policy insights, and provide strategic analytics that strengthen the Association's ability to advocate on behalf of Canada's non-alcoholic beverage sector.

Responsibilities include
Industry Intelligence and Analytics
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve data systems, dashboards, and reporting tools.
- Analyze beverage industry trends, consumer behavior, market developments, and emerging issues.
- Identify strategic insights that support executive decision-making and member priorities.
- Monitor key performance indicators relevant to industry growth, sustainability, and public policy.
Economic and Sector Impact Analysis
- Quantify the economic contribution of Canada's non-alcoholic beverage sector.
- Analyze employment, investment, manufacturing, trade, and GDP-related data.
- Support the development of economic impact studies and advocacy materials.
- Build economic models to assess potential regulatory and legislative impacts.
Policy Development and Reporting
- Conduct primary and secondary research using government, industry, academic, and commercial datasets to support policy development, focussing on economic, regulatory and sustainability issues.
- Prepare reports, presentations, briefing notes, and data visualizations for internal and external audiences.
- Translate complex data into concise and compelling business insights.
- Design and maintain KPIs and performance metrics to monitor business outcomes.
Member and Stakeholder Support
- Provide analytical support to member committees and working groups.
- Respond to member requests for industry information and benchmarking.
- Collaborate with external research firms, consultants, and data providers.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Economics, Statistics, Business, Public Policy, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
- Master's degree considered an asset.
Experience
- 4-7 years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, economics, market research, public policy analysis, or a related field.
- Experience within a trade association, consumer packaged goods company, consulting firm, research organization, or government agency is considered an asset.
- Experience working with regulatory, sustainability, environmental, or public policy data is highly desirable.
Technical Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Power BI, including dashboard development, data visualization, and performance reporting.
- Advanced Excel skills, including modeling, analysis, and presentation of complex datasets.
- Strong working knowledge of SQL and Power Query for data extraction, transformation, analysis, and reporting.
- Ability to design clear, accessible dashboards and visual reports that translate complex information into practical insights.
Additional Tools and Platforms
- Experience with one or more analytical or visualization tools, such as Python, R, Tableau, Microsoft Fabric, or AI-enabled analytics platforms.
- Comfort evaluating and adopting emerging analytics tools where they improve data quality, efficiency, or insight generation.
Analytical and Communication Skills
- Analyze large, complex datasets and identify patterns, trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Develop meaningful KPIs, performance metrics, forecasting models, and scenario analyses to support planning and decision-making.
- Translate technical findings into clear, concise insights for non-technical audiences, including senior leaders, members, and external stakeholders.
- Support evidence-based decision-making through strong analytical judgment, data storytelling, and practical recommendations.
