The Chance The Network Systems Administrator is responsible for the design, implementation, support, and continuous improvement of Canopy Growth's global network and infrastructure environment. This role provides technical leadership for networking technologies including firewalls, switching, wireless, VPN, and WAN connectivity, while also acting as a senior infrastructure resource supporting server, virtualization, cloud, identity, and operational platforms.

The successful candidate will own day-to-day network operations while serving as a backup resource for on-premises infrastructure, datacenter systems, and critical enterprise services. This position works closely with Cyber Security, Modern Workplace, Cloud Engineering, Service Desk, and third-party vendors to ensure secure, reliable, and scalable technology services globally.

Responsibilities

Network Architecture & Operations

- Serve as the primary technical owner for the corporate networking environment.
- Perform capacity planning and lifecycle management of networking equipment.
- Lead network upgrades,



migrations, and modernization projects.
- Develop and maintain network standards and documentation.

Design, implement, and support:
- Layer 2 & Layer 3 switching

- Enterprise wireless networks
- Site-to-site VPNs
- SD-WAN and WAN connectivity
- Internet edge and perimeter infrastructure

Maintain and optimize
- WatchGuard firewalls

- Switch infrastructure

- Wireless access points

- Network monitoring systems

Infrastructure & Systems Administration Act as a secondary resource for:

- Windows Server

- Linux Server platforms
- Hyper-V

- VMware environments

- Storage and backup systems
- Support datacenter and branch infrastructure deployments.
- Assist with hardware lifecycle replacements and infrastructure refresh projects.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing.
- Provide escalation support for complex infrastructure incidents.
- Support network connectivity to cloud platforms.

Security & Compliance

- Implement and maintain secure network configurations.
- Support vulnerability remediation and infrastructure hardening efforts.
- Participate in incident response and infrastructure security investigations.
- Maintain network segmentation and firewall policies.

Monitoring & Operational Excellence

- Assist/Maintain infrastructure monitoring and alerting platforms.
- Investigate and resolve network and infrastructure performance issues.
- Develop automation and operational efficiencies where appropriate.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for critical infrastructure services.

Experience

- 3+ years supporting enterprise network environments.




- 3+ years of systems administration experience.
- Experience supporting multi-site organizations.
- Experience managing firewall, switching, wireless, and VPN technologies.
- Experience supporting virtualization platforms.
- Experience supporting production infrastructure in hybrid cloud environments.

Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of

- TCP/IP

- Routing protocols

- VLANs

- DNS

- DHCP

- VPN technologies

- Network troubleshooting

Hands-on experience with:
- WatchGuard Firewalls

- Enterprise Switching

- Enterprise Wireless Infrastructure

- Windows Server

- Active Directory

- Entra ID
- Hyper-V

- VMware

- Azure

- AWS

- Microsoft 365 administration

- ServiceNow

Preferred Qualifications

- CCNA or CCNP

- HPE or WatchGuard certifications

- Microsoft Azure certification

- AWS certification

- Microsoft Windows Server certification
- Security+ or equivalent security certification

- Experience with PowerShell automation
- Experience with infrastructure monitoring platforms

Other Details This is a full-time role based remotely out of Ottawa, Ontario.

Benefits - extended health and dental coverage, paid vacation and participation in our employer-supported retirement savings program.

Salary - $90,000- $105,000
