Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA)

We are seeking a passionate, creative, and enthusiastic Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) to join our team and support our school, therapy clinic, and camp programs.

Kayla’s Children Centre provides a comprehensive range of therapeutic services to children and families in our school and community, including occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech and language therapy, music therapy, and therapeutic pool programming. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to work with a diverse range of children in both school and clinical settings, as part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary team.

Experience & Qualifications

- Graduate from a certified OTA program preferred.

- Minimum 1 year of experience working with children with special needs.

- Knowledge of developmental disorders and disabilities in infants and children.

- Familiarity with developmental and therapeutic intervention approaches.

- Experience working in an interdisciplinary, family-centred workplace.

- Experience working in a school or pediatric therapy setting is an asset.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare, organize, and implement individual and group therapeutic activities under the direction and supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist.

- Assist Registered OTs with individual treatment sessions and therapeutic groups.

- Support OT programming within the classroom and other school environments.

- Assist with therapeutic activities conducted in the hydrotherapy pool, as required.

- Carry out and reinforce OT treatment plans and strategies throughout the school and clinic environments.

- Maintain accurate and complete client documentation and records.

- Maintain OT equipment, supplies, and treatment areas.

- Ensure appropriate sanitization and cleaning standards are consistently maintained in accordance with department policies.

- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support positive outcomes for children and families.

Schedule

Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Availability to work later afternoons, early evenings and/or Sundays is an asset.

Hourly Rate

$30-$35 per hour
