PARTNERSHIPS AND FOUNDATION ADVISOR
POSITION SUMMARY
Recognized for the quality of its products and services, the Old Port of Montreal Corporation (OPMC) manages a major recreational, tourism, and cultural destination located at the meeting point of the city and the river. Through the enhancement of the Old Port site and the Montreal Science Centre, the Corporation actively contributes to the development of the metropolis.
The Advisor, Partnerships and Foundation supports the development of partnerships, sponsorships, and donations for the Montreal Science Centre and its Foundation. The incumbent prepares partnership and fundraising proposals, participates in business development activities, and maintains relationships with partners, donors, and stakeholders.
The Advisor also supports the Foundation Manager in the Foundation's day-to-day operations by coordinating events, advancing projects, contributing to organizational objectives, and ensuring effective management of records and schedules. The role also involves leading various projects and helping promote the Foundation's visibility and impact.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Partnership Development and Philanthropic Activities (60%)
- Develop tracking tools, analyze partnership and fundraising performance data, and provide recommendations.
- Serve as the main contact for partners and internal stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
- Research, identify, and cultivate potential partners and donors; prepare proposals aligned with the strategic priorities of the Montreal Science Centre and its Foundation.
- Monitor and analyze sponsorship and philanthropic market trends.
- Support internal teams by providing data,
statistics, key information, and visibility metrics to strengthen partnership and sponsorship proposals.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of Foundation events and initiatives to maximize impact and revenue generation.
- Coordinate meetings with partners, donors, and stakeholders, including preparation and follow-up activities.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and recommend enhancements to Foundation and Partnership processes, tools, and practices.
- Contribute to the Foundation's social media presence and communication initiatives.
Foundation Administration, Operational Support, and Reporting (40%)
- Support the Foundation's administrative operations, including calendar management, reporting, and governance activities.
- Maintain, update, and analyze information related to partners, donors, projects, and agreements.
- Review incoming requests and ensure appropriate follow-up based on organizational priorities and objectives.
- Draft and process contracts, letters, reports, and meeting minutes.
- Organize and archive documentation efficiently and accurately.
- Manage and track orders, invoices, payments, tax receipts, deadlines, and budgets while following best practices.
- Monitor contractual obligations under assigned agreements, identify potential issues,
and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure sponsorship agreements comply with organizational standards and approval requirements.
EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED :
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, including partnership development, event activation logistics, and sponsor solicitation.
- University degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Excellent French writing skills.
- Strong proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Intermediate English proficiency (Level 3).
- Experience in the philanthropic sector is considered an asset.
