Summer positions will run May-August 2027. Co-op and Internship positions may extend beyond the summer term depending on the requirements of the academic program and the business. These terms may be 4, 8, 12, or 16 months in length.

To be eligible for the SECURE Student program, you must:
- Be registered in a recognized co-op or internship program through an accredited post-secondary institution.
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada by way of Canadian Citizenship, Permanent residency, or a valid work permit.
- Complete a Medical and/or Alcohol and Drug test if the role is considered safety-sensitive.

SECURE is seeking a People & Culture Co-op Student to support both our Talent Acquisition and Business Partnering teams. This role offers broad, hands-on exposure to human resources and the opportunity to contribute to meaningful day-to-day activities, employee initiatives, and evolving P&C; priorities. As part of this role, you will gain experience across recruitment, pre-employment, employee lifecycle support, reporting, process improvement, and P&C; projects. You will also have the opportunity to build relationships across the organization and develop a strong foundation for a future career in People & Culture.

This role is based out of our Brookfield Office in downtown Calgary, Alberta.

The Team

You will join a collaborative People & Culture team that works closely with leaders and employees across SECURE. The Talent Acquisition and Business Partnering teams are focused on delivering a positive employee and candidate experience while supporting the organization’s people and business priorities. This is an opportunity to learn from experienced P&C; professionals, contribute to a wide range of initiatives, and gain practical exposure to how HR supports a growing and evolving organization.

Work Setting

This is a full-time co-op position supporting the People & Culture team. The role offers a professional, team-oriented environment where you will work collaboratively with colleagues across Talent Acquisition, Business Partnering, and other areas of P&C.; You will be encouraged to ask questions, take initiative, build relationships, and contribute to meaningful work while developing your professional skills and understanding of the employee lifecycle.

A Day in The Life

- Partner with the Talent Acquisition and Business Partnering teams to support day-to-day P&C; priorities and activities.
- Coordinate pre-employment requirements and help ensure candidates move efficiently through the pre-employment process.
- Support recruitment activities, including candidate phone screens, interview coordination, scheduling, and candidate follow-up.
- Assist with Talent Acquisition operations, including invoice processing, tracking, and reconciliation.




- Work alongside Business Partners to support employee lifecycle activities, documentation, coordination, and follow-up.
- Contribute to People & Culture projects, research, audits, reporting, and other team deliverables.
- Maintain the accuracy and effectiveness of P&C; trackers, documentation, and process resources.
- Support P&C; meetings, events, employee initiatives, and other team activities.
- Assist with process documentation and identify opportunities for continuous improvement across Talent Acquisition and Business Partnering.
- Collaborate across the People & Culture team while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality when working with employee and candidate information.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

- Currently enrolled in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related post-secondary program.
- Available for a co-op work term of approximately four to eight months.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated initiative, organization, and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working with confidential and sensitive information.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Strong follow-through and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated involvement outside of academics through sports, HR groups, student associations, projects, volunteer work, or other extracurricular activities.
- A genuine interest in building a career in People & Culture.
- Ability to contribute positively to the team and align with SECURE’s values and culture.
