Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or a directly related field. All nursing courses must be taught by someone who holds a BScN, BN or a master's in nursing.
- Eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan.
Knowledge and Abilities
- Minimum two years recent and relevant clinical or teaching experience in the specialty area to be taught.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills including written, verbal and presentation.
- Proven organizational skills.
- Ability to apply the theory, practices and principles of nursing and adult learning.
- Small group facilitation skills and leading, modeling and teaching interaction skills.
- Effective instructional ability.
- Proven ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
- Understanding of the principles of adult education.
- Effectively deliver course material as provided by Saskatchewan Polytechnic, and develop complementary material to supplement the course as required.
