Role Description the Print & Pre-Press Production Specialist is a Full -time, on-site role located in North Vancouver, BC. This role is responsible for preparing files for print, including pre-flighting, layout adjustments, color management, and ensuring all artwork meets press and finishing specifications. The specialist will operate digital printing equipment, monitor quality throughout each run, and coordinate with bindery and finishing to meet project deadlines.
Day-to-day tasks include reviewing job tickets, collaborating with the graphic design team, communicating with customer service staff on job requirements,
and troubleshooting print or file issues. The role also involves maintaining a clean and safe production area and following established workflows and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Print Production and Printing skills, including experience with digital and/or offset equipment and basic knowledge of finishing processes.
- Candidates should possess Print Design abilities, including working with layout and design files and understanding color, resolution, and file formats for press-ready output.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication and Customer Service skills to collaborate with team members and support client needs and project specifications.
- Experience with pre-press software (e.g., Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat) and RIP/workflow tools is highly beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple jobs, and commitment to meeting deadlines in a production workplace.
- Relevant education or training in print production, graphic communications, or a related field is an asset, along with prior experience in a commercial print shop or similar setting.
