Their military fuel can is known by armies the world over as a “Scepter Can.” When Scepter turned its attention to the retail market, the company soon became trusted throughout the world for producing rugged, ergonomic, and easy-to-use fuel containers. Steady growth and expansion ensured Canada operations were strengthened with the purchase of a key facility in the heartland of America. We are currently looking for a mechanical or projects engineering student to complete a four (4) month co-op term starting in September 2026.
Term: September to December 2026
Hours: 40 hours per week
Salary Range: This is a full time salaried position paying a wage rate between $26.45 and $28.00 per hour commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Engineering team with various engineering projects and initiatives.
- Support the Quality team with product testing, data collection, and preparation of test reports.
- Work closely with the Quality team to investigate non-conformances, quality issues, and customer complaints.
- Support engineering trials, product evaluations, and process improvement activities.
- Assist with CAD drawings, design updates, and engineering documentation as required.
- Review and update engineering documents, work instructions, specifications, and related records.
- Assist with automation, equipment, and manufacturing process improvement projects.
- Maintain engineering records, test results, project documentation, and other technical information.
- Perform other engineering-related tasks and duties as assigned.
Key Competencies:
- Strong organization skills
- Knowledge of SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Microsoft Office
- Microsoft Project Experience
- Ability to work independently in an office setting
- Self-motivated
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Junior to intermediate student studying Mechanical Engineering
- Previous co-op experience considered an asset
