Quarry Worker

Vacancy Type: Replacement

Location: Various locations throughout the Ottawa area

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Make sure crusher is in working order

- Operate Skid Steers
- Work quickly, efficiently and safely to fix problem when crusher shuts down
- Daily check of crusher, grease the Canica, change grease cartridges
- Clean the jaw and cone crushers

- Clean screens and hoods
- Clean around the crushing plant
- Measure, count and change screens

- Shovel under crusher

- Shovel Canica deck

- Clean tools

- Put scrap away
- Prepare tools and equipment for maintenance
- Perform maintenance on equipment when plant is shut down
- Miscellaneous jobs assigned by Quarry Foreman
- Operate rock truck and loader as required

REQUIREMENTS:

- Valid G-Class driver's licence.
- Ability to perform physically demanding manual labour.
- Mechanically inclined and comfortable using hand tools.
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced quarry environment.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Previous labour, construction, quarry, or heavy equipment experience is an asset but not required.

- Typical work day is 10-12 hours with occasional weekend and night shift requirements

COMPENSATION INFORMATION The expected salary range for this position is $25.00- $30.00 per hour. Placement within the range is dependent on a variety of factors including qualifications and experience.
