SGH Design Partners is looking for a talented full time Senior Interior Designer to join our Vancouver studio.

The Position
As Senior Designer, you will play a key role in contributing to the design and documentation process across all project phases, from pre-design through project close out. You will collaborate closely with project teams to support concept development, technical documentation, and project delivery while mentoring junior staff and maintaining strong client relationships.
What You Bring
- Strong understanding of workplace design trends and culture driven workplace strategies
- Demonstrated ability to manage project responsibilities and contribute to mid to large scale projects
- Ability to direct small teams, including developing guidelines, distributing and reviewing work
- Strong visualization and concept development skills, with the ability to translate design concepts into clear, detailed design solutions
- Excellent problem solving skills for technical, design, and implementation challenges
- Responsible for own time management and work flow
- Initiate discussions around project improvements and contribute to our bi-weekly "lessons learned"
- Commitment to mentoring junior staff and supporting knowledge sharing across the team
- Familiarity with local building codes, accessibility standards, and sustainable design frameworks
- Knowledge of sustainable design principles (LEED, WELL, Fitwel, etc.)
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, Architectural Technology or related discipline
- Minimum of 10+ years design experience within the local industry
- NCIDQ certification required; additional qualified designations are considered beneficial and supported
- Consideration for BCIN certification is encouraged
- Strong proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and design software, including Adobe Creative Suite
- Strong knowledge of Outlook and Microsoft 365
- Experience in corporate workplace design or commercial sectors; hospitality experience is beneficial
- Canadian project design experience required
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design dialogue across project phases and teams
- Apply knowledge of workplace design trends, visioning, and culture driven design strategies
- Participate in concept development for mid to large scale projects (30,000 SF+) and support design direction with project teams
- Participate in preparation of project documentation from pre-design through project close out
- Lead and facilitate visioning sessions; document and analyze outcomes
- Lead and participate in client and consultant meetings and presentations
- Prepare project budgets, schedules,
and related project documentation
- Review and coordinate drawings and documentation internally and with engineering consultants
- Ensure drawings comply with building codes and accessibility requirements
- Supervise preparation of architectural drawings, specifications, and construction documents
- Participate in tender preparation and analysis of construction documentation
- Support construction administration including site visits, change notices, site instructions, and certificates for payment
- Participate in industry and SGH design events
- Report weekly to assigned Team Lead on project progress
- Weekly time tracking and review with Team Lead
- Maintain personal project time logs using Ajera
- Mentor junior designers and support their professional development, including performance feedback and project scheduling coordination
