Senior Java Developer – Commodities / Murex

Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior Java Developer with solid Capital Markets and Commodity Trading experience to support the modernization of trading platforms.

The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on Core Java experience, strong knowledge of trading systems and financial products, and exposure to Murex. Experience with Murex implementation, integration, upgrade, or migration projects will be highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, enhance, and maintain Java-based applications supporting Capital Markets and Commodity Trading.
- Build scalable backend services and enterprise integrations using Core Java.
- Develop REST APIs and distributed services.
- Integrate Murex with upstream and downstream trading systems.
- Support trade booking, trade lifecycle, pricing, risk, P&L;, settlements, and market data workflows.
- Participate in Murex implementation, upgrade, integration, and migration initiatives.
- Support modernization of legacy commodity trading platforms.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries and database integrations.
- Work with messaging technologies such as Kafka, IBM MQ, or JMS.
- Troubleshoot production issues and improve system performance and reliability.




- Collaborate with Front Office, Middle Office, Back Office, Risk, QA, and infrastructure teams.

Required Skills
- 7+ years of hands-on Java development experience.
- Strong Core Java and Object-Oriented Programming.
- Capital Markets / Investment Banking experience.
- Hands-on Commodities / Commodity Trading / Commodity Derivatives experience.
- Strong understanding of trading workflows and financial products.
- REST APIs, integration patterns, and distributed systems.
- SQL and relational databases.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Agile / Scrum delivery experience.
