Job Summary
As the Sr Manager, Payroll, you will be the vision leader for the North American Payroll team, overseeing team performance of our full cycle payroll process. The role will be responsible for ensuring bi-weekly tasks & audits are completed by direct reports – also taking on these tasks as needed. As the owner of the Payroll function, they will work closely with the Director, Total Rewards &
- HRIS to maintain the local HR system and align with globally-guided requests. This role will be responsible for regular compliance reporting & working along internal/external partners in company audits. They will build & maintain Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) for the team to utilize and follow, along with regular process analysis. On top of being the final approver of all payroll cycles, this role will also assist with vendor invoice payments, year-end reporting, year-end tasks, and special projects.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead North American payroll team, through strategic management & departmental vision
- Final approval of US &
- Canadian bi-weekly Payroll processing
- Focus on SOPs & policy - creating new & elevating current Payroll/HR processes
- Leading payroll system configuration builds & updates – keeping compliance across the organization’s US &
- Canadian scope
- Assisting in HRIS updates & connections with partnered platforms (internal/external)
- Overflow support for new hire onboarding & overall employee data entry:
- Launch onboarding procedures, follow up with internal stakeholders, & finalizing the process in ADP, US &
- CAD
- Creating and maintaining digital employee file folders
- Maintaining accurate data integrity
- Actioning & organizing employee promotions, transfers, & general update
- Process employment status changes for North American population
- Process termination in system – issuing ROEs where necessary (Canada) & calculating final pay
- Supporting various payroll reconciling & preview processes, including ADP data audits, to ensure payroll is processed accurately and timely
- Collaboration with HR team members & cross-departmental stakeholders
- Provide excellent customer service experience daily to all levels of internal & external customers
- All other duties or projects as assigned

- Timely & accurate processing of Employee paperwork
- Successfully onboarding new hires within days of hire
Requirements
Education
- Advanced Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Finance or Accounting.
Experience &
- Skills
- 5 Years of Payroll experience with progressive mindset
- 2+ Years as a people manager
- Experience in the retail industry and office environment preferred
- Exposure to US &
- CAD Payroll is strongly recommended, but both not required
- ADP Workforce Now experience in both US &
- Canadian systems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to comfortably communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail & ability to multitask
- Must be able to handle confidential & sensitive information professionally and discreetly.
- Solid time management, analytical & problem-solving skills
- A commitment to providing outstanding customer service
- Program experience required: MS Excel, Word, Outlook
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks & maintain high integrity & business ethic
- Positive, professional, and energetic demeanor
- Must be an ambassador of the L’Occitane brand
