Job Purpose:

You'll build the backend engines that power real-time trading, risk management, and core platform services: systems where low latency, high throughput, and reliability are critical, and the React front-ends that surface them. As a Senior Software Engineer for Trading Technology Software Development, you'll design and develop business components and services according to business requirements and technical specifications.

You'll be actively involved in all phases of the software development life cycle: requirements gathering, researching, initial configuration, setup, design, documentation, testing, debugging, updates, ongoing support, integration, maintenance, and troubleshooting. This role requires deep expertise across the stack: backend architecture, cloud-native technologies, and distributed systems, plus React and TypeScript for user-facing work.

This role offers significant ownership over backend systems. You'll tackle open-ended technical challenges, contribute to architectural decisions, and drive improvements to team practices, not just execute predefined tickets.





Essential Job Functions / Main Duties & Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain efficient and reliable backend systems using Microsoft .NET and other technologies as required by the role.
- Design, develop, and maintain responsive React and TypeScript front-ends that surface real-time trading and risk data to users.
- Analyze user requirements and build systems according to business specifications.
- Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle.
- Build, deploy, and operate services using modern CI/CD, containerization, and cloud-native practices.
- Integrate with message brokers (RabbitMQ), caching systems (Redis), and relational databases.
- Troubleshoot and optimize backend performance using log analysis and monitoring tools.
- Work closely with other developers and staff, such as project managers and the quality assurance team.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to intermediate and junior developers.
- Participate in code and design reviews to maintain high-quality standards.
- Ensure high availability and reliability of the systems.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code using industry best practices.
- Evaluate and adopt current technologies and practices relevant to the team's stack.
- Diagnose and resolve production issues across the stack using alerts, dashboards, and log analysis.
- Write and maintain automated tests to ensure system reliability.
- Use AI-assisted development tools while remaining accountable for the code they produce.

Skills & Qualifications

- Degree or Diploma in Computer Science or related field.
- 5+ years of professional software development experience in Microsoft .NET.
- 2+ years of professional front-end experience with a modern framework: React preferred, Angular or Vue also valued. Strong TypeScript proficiency is expected regardless of framework.
- Strong analytical, conceptual,



and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Flexibility and adaptability to business requirements and priority changes.

- Well-organized, good communication and reporting skills.
- Capacity to prioritize and effectively handle numerous tasks in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.

Preferred Knowledge & Experience

- Extensive experience in design/development of highly scalable and high-performance distributed systems.
- Proven experience with message-oriented middleware systems such as RabbitMQ and Kafka.
- Experience with Redis.
- Experience with Kubernetes.
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred, AWS also valued).
- Experience with test automation.
- Experience with REST APIs, gRPC, WebSockets, or Server-Sent Events (SSE).
- Experience with observability tools (e.g., OpenTelemetry).
- Experience with write-heavy real-time UIs that stay responsive and correct while data changes underneath (optimistic updates, concurrency, conflict resolution).
