Your Opportunity at SECURE
Summer positions will run May-August 2027. Co-op and Internship positions may extend beyond the summer term depending on the requirements of the academic program and the business. These terms may be 4, 8, 12, or 16 months in length.

To be eligible for the SECURE Student program, you must:
- Be enrolled in a post-secondary institution and available from May to August.
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada by way of Canadian Citizenship, Permanent residency, or a valid work permit.
- Complete a Medical and/or Alcohol and Drug test if the role is considered safety-sensitive.

Your Opportunity at SECURE
This role provides the summer student with hands-on experience supporting the Drilling Fluids Technical team through technical support, execution, and planning activities. The student will gain exposure to real-world projects, including well summaries, project offset analyses, and technical program and proposal development, while contributing to the accuracy and quality of deliverables. This role is based out of our Brookfield Office in downtown Calgary, Alberta.
The Team
The student will be part of a team-oriented, dynamic team that works closely with Sales and Operations through the planning, execution, and review of drilling fluid projects. The environment is fast-paced and deadline-driven, with supportive colleagues who value teamwork, learning, and proactive problem-solving.
Work Environment
You'll work closely with SECURE's Drilling Fluids Technical, Sales, and Operations teams in a collaborative and fast-paced environment that supports active drilling projects across the business. The role involves technical data analysis, project reviews, well recap preparation, document management, and coordination with multiple stakeholders to support the planning, execution, and evaluation of drilling fluid programs.
This opportunity provides hands-on exposure to technical operations, project support, and continuous improvement initiatives while developing analytical, organizational, and communication skills within the energy industry.
A Day in The Life
- Be familiar with roles & responsibilities within the Fluids Technical group and participate as required.
- Prepare well summaries/recaps and project reviews as required.
- Effectively liaise and communicate with the Sales, Operations and Management teams to gather the critical information required for high-quality and timely deliverables.
- Assist with ideas and development of new or improved technical processes.
- Reviewing, tracking and prioritizing task requests. Organizing and filing job-related documents accordingly.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Actively enrolled in an undergraduate degree or diploma program and returning to studies following the work term; Engineering Sciences or Engineering Technology is preferred.
- Strong computer and data analysis skills, with proficiency in Excel and familiarity with tools like Power BI, are considered an asset.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical thinking, with initiative to take on new challenges.
- Adaptable, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced workplace.
- High attention to detail, professionalism, and a strong sense of responsibility in completing tasks.
