As a Staff Process Engineer, you will be at the forefront of innovation, driving the development of assembly processes for state-of-the-art electro-optical modules. Your expertise in SMT, microelectronics, and high-volume product assembly will be instrumental in achieving our manufacturing goals. With a strong background in mechanical design and analysis, you will ensure the optimal performance and reliability of our products.

Additionally, your ability to process manufacturing data and identify process improvements will contribute to increased yield and overall efficiency.

Responsibilities

- Develop and optimize assembly processes for electro-optical modules, ensuring efficiency and quality.
- Apply expert knowledge of SMT, microelectronics, and high-volume assembly techniques.
- Analyze tolerance analysis and thermal analysis for mechanical designs.
- Develop scripts and AI routines to process manufacturing data to identify yield trends and implement process improvements.
- Interface with contract manufacturers globally and travel to manufacturing sites as needed.
- Create assembly instructions for commercial manufacturers and assemble initial prototypes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of assembly processes.




- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in assembly technologies.
- Act as bridge between development and manufacturing to ensure the product is suitable for volume manufacturing.
- Conduct failure analysis through tear down, cross section and x-ray.
- Provide technical support and guidance to manufacturing teams.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulations throughout the assembly process.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in process engineering, with a focus on electro-optical modules.
- Expert-level understanding of SMT, microelectronics, and high-volume product assembly.
- Familiarity with dispensing technologies for thermal interface materials, gaskets, and epoxies.
- Solid background in mechanical design and tolerance analysis.
- Ability to perform basic thermal analysis and interpret results.
- Proficiency in data analysis and yield trend identification.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for effective cross-functional teamwork.
- Willingness to travel internationally for manufacturing site visits.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
