POSITION OBJECTIVE

Reporting to the General Manager, Gather, the Support Staff works diligently to ensure our guests receive quality service and have a wonderful experience that exceeds their expectations each time they visit Gather Craft Kitchen & Bar. Support Staff will provide warm and caring service and exhibit deep “ownership” of the restaurant and its unique mission.

The Support Staff is the first point of contact for guests over the phone or in the restaurant and will set the tone for the dining experience. They will cheerfully greet guests, manage reservations, take guests to their table, and provide them with a menu. They will monitor the table rotation and make sure Servers get a fair number of tables.

The Support

Staff will prepare dining areas by thoroughly cleaning and setting the restaurant tables between guests. They support Servers to ensure all tables are set and cleared in a timely manner.

The Support Staff will ensure a smooth flow of orders between the front of the house and the back of the house by coordinating orders from the line, checking for quality control and orders are ready to serve. They will assist with checking consistency in portions, quality and presentation and communicate discrepancies to the Chef, Sous Chef or Restaurant Manager to ensure an efficient delivery of service to guests.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

· Welcome guests to the restaurant and cheerfully greet them.

· Escort guests to assigned dining or bar areas, provide them with a menu and any other information required.

· Coordinate available seating options and ensure sections are not overcrowded.

· Answer incoming phone calls and address guests’ queries.

· Manage reservations over the phone, online platforms, or in-person.





· Provide accurate wait times and monitor waiting lists.

· Set tables, as per the restaurant standard, before guests are seated.

· Keep the dining area clean, including tables, chairs, and floors.

· Polish silverware and clean glasses.

· Ensure all necessary supplies such as linen, utensils, condiments, and cleaning materials are adequately stocked and organized.

· Coordinate orders.

· Ensure quality, portion size and presentation standards are upheld on every plate served.

· Communicate any concerns with servers and the kitchen.

· Assist servers in delivering food and drinks as needed.

· Greet customers upon their departure.

· Adhere to and enforce Compass Group Canada and Park Hospitality policies.

· Assist with other Park Hospitality and APC departments where appropriate.

· Provide support to the goodwill ambassador volunteers on site.

· Ensure cleanliness and hygiene are maintained in restaurant areas.

· Strive to uphold a protected working environment and be Health and Safety conscious and actively involved in maintaining and improving a safe work environment.

General Duties

· Adhere and comply with all Compass Group Canada and Park Hospitality policies, safety regulations and safe work practices that will ensure a safe work environment.

· Maintain a professional image while working and provide extraordinary experiences to our park visitors while performing daily work activities.

· Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required.
