About the Job:
Operating in a Northern British Columbia mining environment on a two week in/two week out shift rotation, the Surveyor is a key employee involved in the mining engineering functions at the Silvertip Operation.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor underground mining progress and establish survey control points as required;
- Calculate month end tonnage reconciliation by survey;
- Maintain up-to-dates in Deswik and Vulcan;
- Issue updated as-built prints;
- Preparation of technical memos, reports,
driving layouts and mining specifications;
- Perform pre-operational checks, operate equipment and perform all job functions according to Safe Operating Procedures;
- Conduct weekly checks of ventilation flows and diesel exhaust gases in working headings;
- Provide technical and mentoring support for Underground Mine and Surface Operations;
- Ensure equipment deficiencies and operational issues are communicated clearly;
- Accomplish other tasks within his/her area of expertise as requested.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Technical school diploma;
- Minimum of five (5) years underground survey experience;
- Knowledge of CAD, word processing and spreadsheet software;
- Experience with latest technology of Total Station;
- GPS / GIS;
- Drone Surveying;
- Valid driver's license;
- Physically fit to perform the duties of the position.
Additional Information:
- Willing to work a two-week rotation schedule, with 12-hour shifts per day at a remote camp.
- Eligible for Annual Bonus.
- Our current designated marshalling locations are Vancouver, Kelowna, Nanaimo, Calgary, Edmonton, Whitehorse, Teslin, and Watson Lake.
