We are currently seeking a temporary Human Resources Associate to join our HR team. This role is key in supporting disability claims and leaves support. This is an existing position being filled on a temporary basis.
Full-Time, Temporary (3 months)
Human Resources Associate
40 hours/week
Waterloo, Ontario The Human Resources Associate provides essential administrative support to the Human Resources Department, including the Director of Recruitment and Retention and HR Business Partners. This role supports key HR functions such as disability claims coordination, and accurate maintenance of employee records within the HRIS and external vendor platforms.
Key initiatives include:
Disability Claims & Leave Support
- Provide information to employees and leaders on disability management.
- Ensure accurate posting of medical leave and accommodation information in HRIS and internal resources.
- Coordinate and monitor STD, LTD, IAW, and accommodation claims with adjudicators.
- Submit initial claim documentation and ensure all materials are accurate and complete.
- Audit payroll reports for leave‑related status changes and notify payroll accordingly.
- Act as a liaison between employees and adjudicators to support communication and claim navigation.
- Provide temporary coverage for the Disability Management Team members as needed.
Education and Experience:
- 1 year of previous HR administrative experience
- College diploma in Human Resource Management
- CHRP designation (or working toward it) preferred
- Experience with HRIS and database systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding of Employment Standards Legislation.
- Solid organizational and time management abilities.
