TGS System Support – Operations Manager
About Trans Global Service
Trans Global Service (TGS) is the service organization of LFL Group, Canada's largest retailer of furniture, appliances, and electronics. LFL Group employs over 10,000 people across Canada and operates iconic brands like The Brick and Leon's. TGS provides appliance and furniture repair, installation, and assembly services for LFL Group customers, manufacturers and extended warranty providers. We are a team of 275 employees with an extended network of more than 300 contractor partners.
TGS runs on software called LimeTAC, a custom-built Azure web application spanning every function of the business: work order management, booking and scheduling, technician booking boards and geofence management, dispatch, parts ordering and inventory, CRM, accounts payable and accounts receivable. LimeTAC supports a community of 500+ users across technicians, contractors, TGS support staff, stores, and customers. We’ve completed more than 122,000 repair and install jobs for our customers so far in 2026.
Position Overview
TGS is seeking an experienced and highly organized System Support Operations Manager to own LimeTAC administration, configuration, reporting, troubleshooting, testing, and continuous improvement by championing IT enhancements and bug fixes. The manager is also responsible to identify and deliver opportunities to reduce manual work across TGS using process automation and AI solutions. The successful candidate will work closely with TGS Operations, IT, Accounting, and other internal business units to resolve system issues, coordinate enhancements, improve processes, and provide reliable operational reporting. The manager currently supports a team of 2 system specialists.
Compensation
$60,000 – $95,000 annually, based in Edmonton, AB, commensurate with experience.
Key Responsibilities
System Support & Administration
- Manage day-to-day System Support and Reporting Specialist team members.
- Create and maintain users, technicians, customer profiles, request types, rates, contracts, and other system configurations in LimeTAC.
- Investigate and resolve system issues, coordinating IT tickets and enhancement requests as needed.
- Provide technical and system assistance to internal and external users.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Create, maintain, and distribute Power BI dashboards and TGS operational reports.
- Identify process gaps and opportunities to improve efficiency and business visibility.
- Evaluate and prioritize system enhancements, coordinating with IT through development, testing (UAT), and implementation.
- Assist Accounting with financial queries, reporting discrepancies, and system-generated financial information.
Documentation, Training & Business Support
- Develop and maintain SOPs, training materials, and system documentation.
- Provide system and process training to internal teams, external users, and prospective customers.
- Serve as a key liaison between TGS Operations, IT, Accounting, and other business units.
- Manage and support the TGS eBay surplus parts store, including bulk part listing, vendor tool administration, and resolving issues as needed.
- Support new business initiatives, customer programs, and operational projects, and complete ad hoc tasks and reporting as required.
Qualifications & Experience
The ideal candidate combines strong technical problem-solving, Power BI/reporting, and business analysis skills with the ability to work comfortably between business users and IT.
We're more interested in aptitude and curiosity than a specific resume checklist — most of the tools below can be learned on the job.
- Previous experience in operations, systems support, business systems, reporting, or a related management role.
- Experience with Power BI, operational reporting, dashboards, and data analysis.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to translate operational requirements into system solutions, and explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical and frontline staff.
- Experience developing SOPs, process documentation, and training materials.
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities, and working both independently and collaboratively across departments.
- Curiosity about how IT systems work, and comfort learning new platforms, tools, and even coding the help of AI is more important to us than prior experience with any specific tool.
- Degree or diploma in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
A few areas that would be a bonus, though none are required:
- Power BI DAX and Power Query (M) experience.
- Automation tools such as Power Automate or Python, or AI coding tools such as Copilot, ChatGPT, or Claude.
- eCommerce platforms (e.g. eBay), bulk listing tools, and marketplace compliance.
- Appliance service, field service, logistics, or a similar service business experience
The Role
This is a hands-on management position for someone who enjoys solving problems, working with data, improving processes, and making systems work better for the people who use them. You'll act as an key link between TGS Operations and IT, supported by a team of 2 system specialists, helping identify business needs, resolve system challenges, and find opportunities to reduce manual work through automation and AI.
