Our electrical engineering team is recognized for its expertise in energy and complex electrical infrastructure and plays a key role in developing, refurbishing and optimizing hydroelectric power plants across Canada. Driven by the energy transition and the need to modernize existing assets, our projects cover the entire life cycle of these facilities, from preliminary studies to commissioning.To support the growth of our hydropower work, we’ll looking for an electrical engineer specialized in electrical apparatus. Design electrical power systems for hydroelectric power plants, including medium- and low-voltage switchgearParticipate in preliminary and feasibility studies as well as detailed engineeringDevelop layout and installation engineering for electrical apparatus, including:
Medium-voltage cabinetsMedium- and low-voltage bus ductsAuxiliary service transformersLow-voltage electrical power centres
Prepare and review engineering deliverables, such as general arrangement drawings, elevations, construction details, single‑line diagrams, material lists and cable schedulesPerform or verify the electrical calculations required to size and select electrical apparatus and power cablesHelp select equipment, review vendor technical data and estimate quantitiesDraft technical specifications for installation workCoordinate your work with the other disciplines involved, including structural, civil, heavy and auxiliary mechanical, control and protection, building and architectureConduct site surveys and visits,

University degree in electrical engineeringMember of the Ordre des ingénieurs du QuébecTen years of proven experience in electrical engineering, ideally in hydroelectric power plant projects or power installationsKnowledge of utility standards and practicesStrong command of design methods for electrical power and distribution systemsExperience with design software (e.G., AutoCAD and similar tools)Advanced French skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in QuébecAdvanced English skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in English‑speaking Canadian provinces and internationally;
you may need to use English occasionally or daily, depending on current projectsKnowledge of applicable codes and standards, including the Québec Electrical CodeAn Overview Of BBA’s Total Rewards
