Farsi-Speaking Senior Care Companion & English Immersion Tutor - Private / Part-time

Location: Thornhill, ON

We are seeking a patient, compassionate, and highly structured professional to provide community outings and experiential English language tutoring for an elderly gentleman living in Thornhill. The primary goal of this role is to help him safely leave the house, combat social isolation, and keep his mind sharp through structured learning.

Rather than standard caregiving or purely casual chatting, you will escort him to pleasant public spaces (such as the local library or a quiet cafe) to deliver simple, well-structured, beginner-level English lessons.

Key Responsibilities:

- Structured ESL Teaching: Plan and execute simple, repetitive, step-by-step beginner English lessons focused on functional, real-world vocabulary (e.g., greeting others, ordering food, asking simple questions).
- Safe Transportation & Mobility Support: Pick him up from home, drive him to local venues, and provide attentive physical support. He walks at a very gentle pace and uses a cane for stability.




- Adaptive Cognitive Support: He is an older learner who processes recent information and memorizes vocabulary at a much slower pace. You must provide extensive patience, repetition, and a low-pressure environment so he feels a rewarding sense of structure and continuous learning.

Qualifications & Requirements:

- Fluency in Farsi (essential for his emotional comfort, safety, and clarifying words) and a strong command of spoken English. Demonstrated experience working with senior learners, adult ESL education, or individuals facing mild memory and cognitive learning challenges. A valid Ontario Driver’s License and a clean, secure, reliable vehicle. Must provide an up-to-date Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
