ApexRMS , we use data and science to shape real-world environmental decisions. Our models and software support governments, researchers, insurers, and land managers in making better decisions about wildfire risk, carbon dynamics, biodiversity, and land use. We are building next-generation products for wildfire hazard at the national-scale data that translate complex science into actionable insight. plan resilient landscapes, and respond to a changing climate. As a Wildfire Specialist, you will contribute directly to this mission by developing and communicating wildfire risk intelligence for real-world applications across Canada and beyond. About ApexRMS ApexRMS is a globally recognized company in environmental modeling delivering cutting-edge tools for ecosystem simulation and decision support. Our platform, SyncroSim , is used by leading organizations including the U.S. Geological Survey, Canadian Forest Service, and The Nature Conservancy to inform science-based policy and management. We work at the forefront of applied environmental science combining advanced modeling, open science principles, and close collaboration with partners across academia, government, industry, and Indigenous communities. At ApexRMS, you’ll join a highly collaborative and mission-driven team where your work contributes to meaningful environmental outcomes and where innovation, curiosity, and scientific rigor are valued What You’ll Do Build and run wildfire hazard models using BurnP3+ and SyncroSim, and translate outputs into compelling materials for Indigenous communities, insurers, utilities, and government audiences. Develop case studies, technical summaries, and product demonstrations that support business development.



Process and analyze spatial datasets relevant to wildfire risk (e.g., fuels, weather, topography). Collaborate with internal scientists and external partners to refine modeling approaches and ensure outputs align with real-world wildfire risk applications. What You Bring Background in ecology, geography, forestry, or a related field, with interest or experience in wildfire science. Spatial data skills in R or Python, and comfort with raster/vector datasets in environmental contexts. Ability to communicate complex modeling results clearly in maps, reports, or presentations. A curious, detail-oriented mindset and the ability to turn data into stories about how ecosystems work. Experience with wildfire tools (BurnP3+, Prometheus, FlamMap) or familiarity with the insurance, utilities, or natural resource sectors is a strong asset.
