Become a Relief Worker at the Calgary John Howard Society, supporting youth in crisis to foster independence. Engage with youth through trauma-informed and cooperative care.
This position focuses on providing critical support to homeless or at-risk youth aged 15-24 in Calgary. As part of the Roofs for Youth program, you will work to implement individualized strategies that build self-sufficiency and life skills. Your role will involve direct interaction and support across educational and life skill areas, making a significant impact on their journey toward adulthood.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support youth within a single staff model
• Role model independent living and healthy behaviors
• Work collaboratively on implementation of goal plans
• Address crisis situations with restorative approaches
• Foster engagement through various recreational and educational activities
Requirements:
• Degree or diploma from a recognized educational institution
• Two or more years working with at-risk populations
• Ability to solve issues creatively in high-pressure situations
• Police Information Check and Child Intervention Record Check
• Must be available for various shifts, including nights/weekends
Play a pivotal role in the lives of Calgary's youth with CJHS through supportive, creative, and dedicated community service.
