We are seeking two passionate, full-time permanent Elementary Teachers to join our Ernest C. Drury School for the Deaf in Milton. Qualifications:

Valid Certificate of Registration and Qualifications from the Ontario College of Teachers;

Deaf Specialist / Teaching Students Who Are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, or currently engaging in completing the requirements for the specialist qualification;





Primary/Junior or Junior/Intermediate Division qualifications required.

Abilities:

Demonstrated experience teaching Deaf/hard of hearing students in academic programs and/or programs for students with multiple exceptionalities;

Ability to develop and modify lesson plans and to create IEPs to effectively teach Deaf students;

In-depth knowledge of the principles of teaching Deaf students;

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including proficiency in English and American Sign Language (ASL);

Ability to apply an in-depth knowledge of bilingual-biliteracy-bicultural education for Deaf students;

Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team with students with multiple exceptionalities.
