We are seeking a Temporary Activity Director to lead engaging recreational programs and activities for residents in a senior care workplace. As a Temporary Activity Director, you will plan, coordinate, and execute diverse activities tailored to residents’ interests and needs, ensuring a vibrant community experience. Duties
Develop and implement a variety of engaging activities that cater to residents’ interests, abilities, and care requirements, including those with dementia or disabilities
Coordinate special events, outings, and themed programs to promote socialization and community involvement
Collaborate with nursing staff and caregivers to assess residents’ needs and adapt activities accordingly
Maintain a secure environment during all activities by following established safety protocols
Document participation and feedback to evaluate program effectiveness and improve future offerings
Foster positive relationships with residents by encouraging participation and providing personalized attention
Manage activity supplies, equipment, and materials to ensure readiness for all planned events
Experience
Prior experience of Activity Director/Recreational Aid/LEC and working with seniors in assisted living or nursing home settings is highly preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of senior care principles, including dementia care and caregiving techniques
Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is advantageous
Robust communication skills to effectively engage residents, staff, families, and community partners
Proven ability to plan, organize, and lead group activities with enthusiasm and professionalism
Familiarity with safety standards related to recreational programming in senior care environments
