Shelby's is looking for a dedicated Line Cook for a Middle Eastern Rapid Food restaurant chain in Scarborough(Lawrence road).

(Must be able to work early mornings, nights, and weekends)

Job Responsibilities:
Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, seasoning meat and storing food
Cook and plate menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and taking out trash
Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies as needed
Recommending ideas for specials or seasonal dishes
Taking orders from wait staff or computerized system
Ensuring each guest order has the correct food and sides
Assisting other cooks in preparing food or helping other team members when needed

Job Requirements
Proven experience as a Line Cook or relevant position in the food industry
Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling
Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
Able to work in a fast-paced environment
Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently




Physical endurance to stand for an entire shift
Self-motivated and self-directed
Works well as part of a team and on individual tasks
Able to quickly memorize complex or multiple orders
High school degree or equivalent
Previous experience as a waiter, cook, or relevant work experience
Able to work early mornings, nights, and weekends
Able to bend, move, and lift up to 25 pounds or more
Physically able to stand and move during the length of shift; able to bend and kneel through shift
