Join Our Team as a Maintenance Supervisor A safe, comfortable, and well-maintained hotel is essential to an exceptional guest experience. The Prince George Hotel is looking for a knowledgeable and dependable Maintenance Supervisor to support the Maintenance Manager in overseeing the daily activities of the Maintenance Department.
This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for coordinating maintenance work, supporting and supervising team members, and ensuring repairs and preventative maintenance are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. The successful candidate will have strong technical abilities, sound judgment, and a commitment to guest service and workplace safety.
What You’ll Be Doing Assign, monitor, and assist with daily work orders and preventative maintenance tasks
Supervise and support maintenance employees in the repair and upkeep of guestrooms, equipment, HVAC, plumbing, electrical and lighting systems, laundry equipment, common areas, and other building systems
Respond promptly and professionally to maintenance requests and guest concerns, following up to confirm that work has been completed satisfactorily
Inspect equipment and building systems regularly to identify repair and preventative maintenance needs
Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, work orders, and scheduled maintenance
Assist the Maintenance Manager with purchasing and maintaining an appropriate inventory of tools, equipment, parts, and supplies
Help maintain the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of parking areas, walkways, grounds, and other exterior spaces
Coach and mentor maintenance team members, identify training needs, and support employee development
Monitor the department’s work quality, productivity, housekeeping, and compliance with hotel standards
Coordinate with hotel departments, vendors, contractors, inspectors, and other external service providers as required
Oversee contractor activities during repairs,



renovations, and construction projects, ensuring safe work practices are followed
Maintain a professional appearance and demonstrate dependable, respectful conduct and a strong work ethic
Participation in the on-call rotation is required
Complete other reasonable duties assigned by the Maintenance Manager or hotel management
Health and Safety Leadership Safety is a key responsibility of this position. The Maintenance Supervisor is expected to lead by example and take reasonable precautions to protect employees, guests, and the property.
Responsibilities include:
Promote and enforce company health and safety policies, procedures, and secure work practices
Ensure employees use required personal protective equipment and operate tools and equipment safely
Address unsafe behaviour, hazardous conditions, and safety concerns promptly
Investigate and document workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses in collaboration with Human Resources and management
Encourage strong housekeeping practices, including a "Clean as You Go" approach
Prioritize safety- and security-related work orders and ensure they are addressed promptly
Help maintain current emergency procedures and plans for situations such as fire, power failure, severe weather, and utility disruptions
Coordinate required fire drills and inspections of fire protection and other safety equipment
Accompany fire officials, inspectors, insurance representatives, and other authorized officials during property inspections
Maintain organized records of safety inspections, fire inspections,



emergency procedures, and contractors
What You Bring At least three years of maintenance experience, including a minimum of one year in a lead or supervisory role
Strong working knowledge of building systems, preventative maintenance, mechanical repairs, and safety procedures
Hands-on mechanical aptitude and confidence using maintenance tools and equipment
Robust leadership, coaching, and team-supervision skills
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent time-management, organization, and prioritization abilities
Strong attention to detail and consistent follow-through
A professional, solutions-focused approach to guest and employee concerns
Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements
Maintenance-related training or certifications, such as WHMIS or Building Maintenance Technician certification, are considered assets
Basic reading, writing, documentation, and mathematical skills
Must have reliable transportation and be able to report to the hotel promptly for scheduled shifts and when called in while on call
