The Therapeutic Vocational Worker provides vocational support to vulnerable persons with complex and neurodivergent needs, behavioural issues, developmental disabilities, mental health disorders, and/or other related issues. The Therapeutic Vocational Worker provides holistic care, in a therapeutic vocational setting, while implementing supervision, training, support, care, and role-modelling to participants, guiding vocational routines while implementing behavioural and life skill strategies. The Therapeutic Vocational Worker assists participants in meeting their individual and vocational goals.
Duties and Responsibilities Services Provide supervision, care, and support to vulnerable persons with complex and neurodivergent needs, behavioural issues, developmental disabilities, mental health disorders, and/or other related issues.




Supervise and engage with participants in a safe and structured environment.
Participate in programming.
Provide a safe and adaptive environment where participants with exceptionalities can learn meaningful functional life and vocational skills.
Implement individual vocational plans and programming.
Communicate information regarding job duties, skill requirements, and the work environment to participants in a manner that adapts to individual needs and abilities.
Train, support, and supervise participant tasks.
Teach participants life skills such as self care, cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and positive behaviours.
Provide Personal Care as required.
Seek out information on community resources of benefit to participants.
Communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
Provide regular reviews regarding individual vocational plans.
Provide feedback to the program manager regarding participant successes and challenges.
Resolve conflicts and respond to crisis situations in a calm and patient manner.
