Our established and growing law firm is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Civil Litigation Lawyer with 3–5 years of experience to join our team. The successful candidate will work on a variety of litigation matters and will play an active role in managing files, appearing in court, and providing strategic advice to clients.
Responsibilities
Manage civil litigation files from commencement through resolution
Draft pleadings, motions, affidavits, factums, and other legal documents
Conduct legal research and prepare written legal opinions
Attend examinations for discovery, mediations, pre-trials, and court appearances
Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, and the courts
Develop litigation strategies and assist in preparing matters for trial
Ensure compliance with court rules, deadlines, and procedural requirements
Qualifications
Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
3–5 years of experience practicing civil litigation
Solid advocacy, research, and drafting skills
Ability to manage multiple files and deadlines in a quick-paced setting
Excellent communication and client service skills
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
