Enhance animal health at the Calgary Zoo as a full time Associate Veterinarian. Lead daily clinical care, surgeries, and pathology to support diverse species in our facility.The Wilder Institute’s Calgary Zoo is looking for a permanent Associate Veterinarian with a solid background in zoological medicine. This role requires at least three years of experience and ideally completion of an internship or residency in the field. Robust communication skills and the ability to work well in teams are essential.Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily clinical health activities for zoo animals
Perform surgeries and conduct pathology evaluations
Collaborate with the Animal Health and Welfare team
Contribute to emergency response efforts as needed
Maintain excellent communication with management and guestsRequirements:
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine with Alberta licensure
Minimum of three years in zoological medicine
Board certification by ACZM or eligibility
Robust interpersonal and judgment skills
