Lead cultural healing initiatives as a Cultural Program Leader with MKO in Thompson, Manitoba, focusing on the unique needs of Indigenous communities. Play a vital role in integrating cultural teachings into justice practices.
In this full time role, you will be responsible for coordinating programming that reflects the traditions and values of 26 First Nations. Your expertise in Indigenous cultures will guide the development of trauma-informed and culturally safe services. Collaborating with community partners, you will enhance the Healing & Wellness framework for individuals impacted by the justice system.
Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate culturally embedded programming for individuals in the justice system • Facilitate traditional teachings and ceremonies for community wellness • Provide guidance to program staff on Indigenous protocols • Identify service gaps and offer mentorship opportunities • Maintain community partnerships to enhance local resources
Requirements: • Deep understanding of Indigenous ceremonies and teachings • Proven experience in community and multicultural settings • Excellent facilitation and relationship-building skills • Computer literacy with Microsoft Office Suite • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle
