Role: Operates delivery vans and a 5-ton truck with a tailgate, pickup and deliveries to various locations, far west as London, east to Port Hope, south to the lakefront and north to Orillia and everything in between. Will need to assist with unloading materials and supplies between various company facilities and work sites. Accountable for the safe and efficient operation of company vehicles. BFG truck driver is the primary function and forklift driver/warehouse person is secondary function. Responsibilities: Maintain telephone contact with head office and be available to receive instructions to be dispatched to recent locations. Follow a pre-determined schedule of pick-ups and deliveries. Perform pre-trip inspection of vehicles, including tires, lights, brakes, emergency equipment, etc. Record inspection results daily in accordance with procedure and ensure inspection records always remain in the vehicle. Comply with all applicable Highway Traffic Act requirements and other applicable transportation, traffic and safety regulations.
